White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has said that President Donald Trump should be honored with the Nobel Peace Prize. She claimed that the U.S. President has helped end several conflicts around the world, including the dispute between India and Pakistan.
Regarding the tensions between India and Pakistan, Trump has repeatedly claimed on several occasions that he helped ease the situation.
During a White House press briefing on Thursday, Leavitt said that Trump helped bring an end to conflicts between the following countries: Thailand and Cambodia, Israel and Iran, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, India and Pakistan, Serbia and Kosovo, and Egypt and Ethiopia. She stated that the President has mediated nearly one peace deal or ceasefire per month during his six months in office. “It is time President Trump is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize,” she said.
It is notable that Trump has repeated this claim nearly 30 times, saying he helped de-escalate tensions between India and Pakistan. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in Parliament this week that no foreign leader had asked India to stop Operation Trishul.
